Catalina is designed to be used like most campervans, driving to a different destination every day or driving to explore the area during the day and returning to basecamp for the night. It can sit still for several nights, but thoughtful electricity use will be necessary. Driving regularly will provide the opportunity to use higher consumption appliances and keep the battery bank charged up to run everything smoothly. Either way, we’ll walk you through how to make the most of the on board power and how/when to use appliances to make the most of the on board battery power.

As with most camper vans, if you don’t want to worry about power consumption, make sure to book campsites with electric hookups (shore power). It only needs a 110V outlet, just like the ones at home. Keeping it plugged in will keep it charged up and running smoothly without needing to drive regularly.
